Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work and to provide information to the site operators.
2. Our approach
Riskjar uses essential cookies only. We do not use any tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. We do not use any third-party cookies.
3. Cookies we use
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_risk_tracker_session |
Session management. Keeps you signed in and maintains your session state. | Essential | Session (deleted when you close your browser) or up to 2 weeks if you stay signed in. |
_csrf_token |
Security. Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks. | Essential | Session |
4. No consent banner needed
Because we only use strictly necessary cookies that are essential for the Service to function, no cookie consent is required under the GDPR, the Swiss FADP, or the ePrivacy Directive. We do not need your consent for these cookies, and they cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
5. Local storage
We may use your browser's local storage (not cookies) for:
- Theme preference — remembering your light/dark mode choice.
- Draft content — temporarily saving comment drafts so you don't lose your work.
- Push notification preferences — storing your notification subscription state.
Local storage data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
6. Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce non-essential cookies (which we currently have no plans to do), we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms before doing so.
